DMCA and Copyright

The short version: if content on LSD infringes your copyright, send us a notice and we'll act on it. If your content was taken down by mistake, you can send a counter-notice. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.

Reporting infringement

Send copyright takedown notices to dmca@lsd.tools. We respond to notices that reasonably comply with the DMCA and equivalent copyright law.

What your notice must include

To be actionable, a takedown notice needs all six of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (as the rights holder or someone authorised to act for them).
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. Identification of the infringing material and enough detail for us to find it — for example the listing URL.
  4. Your contact details: name, address, phone, and email.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you're the owner or authorised to act for them.

Filing a knowingly false claim can make you liable for damages — please only report genuine infringement.

What happens next

When we receive a valid notice we remove or disable access to the material and notify the publisher who posted it, telling them why.

Counter-notice

If you're the publisher and your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to dmca@lsd.tools with all four of:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts.

If the original complainant doesn't pursue a court order, we may restore the material in about 10 to 14 business days.

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, and may act sooner where the situation warrants it.
